ViscoTec Pumpen- u. Dosiertechnik GmbH
Nowadays, in aircraft manufacturing, there are still lots of manual processes in the fluid handling and dosing applications. It is very time consuming, bears the risk of human error and no reliability. Furthermore, the cartridges are extremely expensive, where the whole cartridge content must be mixed and fully consumed. Therefore, ViscoTec developed a unique process technology, which allows to perform these applications automatically, which includes bonding, sealing, honeycomb potting, insert bonding, edge filling & sealing. Hence, we can handle fluids with very high viscosity, precise requirements for mixing ratio and compressibility, which brings the benefit of less material waste, lower production costs, which are crucial in the Aerospace applications. More importantly, ViscoTec recently launched the mix-on-demand station in which our systems are used as a stationary solution, to mix the material in the exactly required amount for immediate use or to fill it into cartridges and with that the system could fully replace the use of Semkit/Techkit cartridges.

SAE Industry Technologies Consortia (SAE ITC) [Main Exhibitor: SAE International]
The aerospace industry is talking about Digital Engineering in product development and supply chain to improve quality, reduce costs, improve integration, and increase workflow efficiencies. Digital standards – technical standards as digital artifacts, not PDFs - are critical for interoperability across these digital ecosystems. These digital standards will come from a variety of organizations, including standards development organizations (SDOs), governments, and manufacturers. Despite coming from multiple sources, it is imperative for digital standards to be interoperable.
The Digital Standards Alliance (DSA) aims to develop and promote best practices for digital standards to accelerate standards data integration. The DSA members represent industry – aerospace manufacturers and PLM software companies – with the SDOs and government agencies. It will also collaborate with other initiatives and organizations to ensure interoperability of digital standards in larger ecosystems.

The space industry is seeing extraordinary growth as technology evolves and new possibilities are created. Global collaboration between governments and industry is increasing significantly. Commercial and defense applications for space continue to expand, while systems become more complex and the demand for these systems sooner and faster is sky-high. This fulcrum of growth, complexity and demand has resulted in an imperative for digital engineering in aerospace & defense, and the crescendo of this imperative is most resounding in space. The commercial technology exists today to make digital engineering and digital mission engineering a reality for governments and industry, helping solve new problems and spur innovation in key space application areas such as Earth Observation, Communications, Constellations, Launch, and Reusable Reentry.

One of the most promising routes is alcohol-to-jet (ATJ), which uses ethanol as its base. This route has been identified by experts as the only viable solution in the short term to meet the international aviation target of carbon neutrality by 2050. Ethanol is a renewable, available, and efficient solution to complement different technologies, considering the context of each region. This seminar intends to share information about Brazilian ethanol production and its potential to support the aviation sector´s decarbonization goals, with a focus on the ATJ route for SAF. The speakers will highlight about Brazilian ethanol attributes, production capacity, and perspectives for potential cooperation with Japan.
