●Successful Moon Landing as the 5th country in the world
Smart Lander for Investigating Moon (SLIM), developed by Mitsubishi Electric under contract with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), successfully landed on the lunar surface at 00:20 a.m. on January 20 (Japan Standard Time). This is Japan's first lunar landing, making it the fifth country to safely land a spacecraft on the Moon, joining Russia (Soviet Union), the United States, China and India.
In addition, “SLIM” had achieved world’s first high-precision landing on the Moon.
●Exhibition model used for development and testing
You can see a 1/1 scale model used for development tests.
●High accuracy and wide area image acquisition
Advanced Land Observing Satellite-4 “DAICHI-4” (ALOS-4), manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric under contract from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), provides highly accurate and wide-area imagery day and night and in all weather conditions. Observation data on crustal and ground deformation over a wide area by “DAICHI-4” will be used to assess the situation when disasters occur and for early detection of abnormalities during normal times.
●1/32 scale model of “DAICHI-4” on display
You can see a 1/32 scale model (W750mm x D420mm x H345mm) of “DAICHI-4”, which shows the features of its flight model.
