We are developing a compact high-resolution near-infrared spectrograph realized by a germanium immersion grating suitable for a small satellite. The instrument can cover the wavelength range from 2.3 to 4.4 microns with a resolution of about 0.1 nm (a resolving power of about 30,000). The infrared wavelength range contains many absorption lines of H2O, CO2, CH4, N2O, etc. Therefore, this instrument will be useful to monitor them in telluric atmosphere. Here is a demonstration model of our spectrograph.
