TAURUS is Tecnatom's automatic system designed for the ultrasonic inspection of aeronautical components using water jet through-transmission and/or pulse-echo phased-array techniques.
Depending on the parts geometry to be inspected, the machine configuration can vary from a robot moving on a linear track to a twin robotic system.
TAURUS Configurations:
- Single robot: For parts with a simple or complex geometry and small or medium dimensions, water-jet through transmission technique can be applied using a U-shape yoke mounted on the robot twist. Pulse-echo in local immersion, with up to 256 elements in Phased-array, is performed by a single robot providing high productivity rates in the inspection of complex geometries.
- Twin robots: For parts with complex geometry (double curvature) and large dimensions, two robots working in a cooperating mode are proposed to apply through transmission technique. Local immersion pulse-echo inspection can be performed simultaneously in two different parts, using both robots independently.
- Multipurpose: A wide range of specific inspection modules and tool changer can be included within the scope to support future needs of production increase or new parts geometries. In addition, a turntable or an immersion tank could be added to the system to enhance its performances.
TAURUS Advantages:
- Flexibility: being capable os scanning a wide range of products
- Productive: optimising inspection times by means of high inspection speed
- Scalable: incorporating different solutions to increase its performances
- Multi-Technique: this architecture is able to perform TTU and PE inspection, both in total and local immersion
- Robust and proven solution.
- References: More than 50 systems already provided and in production
The WiiPA system is Tecnatom’s versatile solution for customers that need to cover a wide range of flat, curved and complex contoured parts. WiiPA is a Wireless Integrated 3D inspection system, based on spatial positioning by means of Infrared cameras that accurately track and register the position of the NDT probe in real time.
WiiPA Characteristics:
- Manual inspection with traceable C-scan register
- Accurate probe position tracking by IR cameras. Wireless probe motion tracking.
- High repeatability and accuracy
- Absolute freedom of probe movement. Works as a “paintbrush process“
- Adaptable to any dimension and geometry
- Re-inspection of uncovered spots on the go
- Powerful UT electronics. Full functionality of UT software, including 3D views
- Ideal for Phased Array UT. Suitable for various NDT methods
- Real-time visualization of C-scan through augmented reality or on Display Screen
- Possibility of parallel working stations on WiiPA cell
- Fast and easy set-up. Available as Portable system (using a trolley or tripods) or Permanent installation (installing the cameras in a metallic structure)
PEGASUS is Tecnatom’s proven system integration of industrial electromechanical cartesian solutions and its periferals for NDT applications. The PEGASUS system consists on a 2-Axes gantry configuration, based on a fixed structure with a moveable beam along the X-axis. Two columns (Z1, Z2) are assembled on the beam. The main objective of the system is the inspection of flat or slighted curved parts using Water-Jet Through Transmission Ultrasonics (TTU) and Pulse-Echo (PE).
PEGASUS Characteristics:
- Effective and reliable mechanics and controller
- High repeatability and accuracy
- Robust and easy-to-maintain solution
- Productive configuration for flat/slightly curved panels inspection
- Simultaneous inspection in TTU and PE
